Richard is Head of the UK Private Equity team. He has extensive experience of all areas of mergers and acquisitions both public and private. Since joining the firm in May 2003, Richard has advised on over 40 transactions. His most recent experience includes: advising Tinopolis plc on its £45m acquisition by way of scheme of arrangement by Vitruvian Partners; acting for Gresham LLP and newco on the £110m acquisition of Betts Global Limited, a manufacturer of toothpaste tubes with operations in 11 jurisdictions (including the US, Brazil, Mexico, China, Indonesia, Russia, Poland, Switzerland and South Africa); and acting for Hutton Collins on the £260m secondary buyout of Healthcare at Home.
Robin is Co Chair of Eversheds Cross Border M&A Team and runs a team across 30 jurisdictions of over 100 lawyers. He is also Sector Chair of the Diversified Industrial Sector Group. Mergermarket has placed Robin regularly in the top 10 of their Rainmaker leagues in the last 8 years. Legal Business in the UK recently voted Robin as one of the top ten M&A lawyers in the UK. In 2010-2011, Robin had a secondment to Parker Hannifin to assist in a major European restructure and in 2013 spent 4 months as Interim European and Asian GC for Archer Daniels Midland. In 2012, Robin spent 4 months researching and writing Eversheds award winning “M&A Blueprint : Inception to Integration” report. Robin is a member of the ABA International M&A Task Force and a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Steve is a partner in the firm’s corporate group and is the head of the firm wide public company takeover group. He specialises in corporate finance transactions for UK and overseas clients, principally mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies, as well as IPOs and secondary fundraisings. Steve is a member of the firm's TMT sector group. Steve spent two years on secondment at the Takeover Panel between 1999 and 2001 advising on numerous high profile offers both recommended and hostile. He now regularly presents and writes articles on the subject of public company takeovers in the UK and sits on the ICAEW corporate finance faculty committee which reviews proposed amendments to the Takeover Code.
